North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) in a day...

Explore Dunwich (Goompi)
Explore Dunwich (Goompi), and enjoy the local shops and galleries and the North Stradbroke Island Historical Museum on Minjerribah. Myora Springs and both Brown (Bummeria) and Blue (Kaboora) Lakes are located in Dunwich too.

Walk the world famous Gorge Walk
Make your way to Point Lookout and meander along the boardwalk that takes you around the naturally beautiful landscape of the North Gorge. Spot Kangaroos lazing in the sun, eagles in the trees and dolphins, manta rays and turtles in the sparkling ocean.

Have a picnic
Picnic on the foreshore of Dunwich, at one of the lakes, or one the headlands at Point Lookout. The island has places you can purchase delicious treats and drinks for while you relax with family and friends or even a good book or podcast!

Surf, body board or swim
Did you know Cylinder Beach was voted best Queensland beach for the last 2 years by Surf Life Saving Queensland? There are many beautiful beaches on Straddie but make sure to swim between the flags.

Watch the whales go by
It's not too late to see the mighty Humpback Whales as the annual migration comes to a close. Straddie has the best land based whale watching in Queensland, or even the world (in our opinion).

Treat yourself
Treat yourself to a gelati while kangaroo and dolphin spotting on the headland from the Oceanic Gelati Shop or a bite to eat or a cold drink from any of the restaurants, cafes or clubs on the Island. There are options in all three townships.

Grab some Straddie seafood
Straddie is surrounded by such beautiful marine life and some are quite delicious too. Be sure to stop in to one of the island Seafood shops or shacks to get your fill of prawns, fish, oysters or sand crabs - Yum!
