Minjerribah Camping has several parks and foreshore camping grounds to choose from. Each ground has unique features and various accommodation options. All campsites, including foreshore camping.

Foreshore campsites are accessible by 4WD vehicles only, so if you decide to camp on the beach, remember a 4WD permit is necessary. 4WD permits are valid for one month or one year and can be purchased from Minjerribah Camping. 

It is recommended that you purchase your 4WD permit prior to arriving on the island. Driving is not permitted on the beach one hour either side of high tide.

Point Lookout (Mulumba)

Point Lookout offers a range of camping grounds near popular beaches with the following options:

  • Glamping Tents
  • Eco Shacks
  • Powered Sites
  • Unpowered Sites

All within easy walking distances to the beach, there are multiple places to visit for a meal or drink in Point Lookout. Point Lookout also has a skate park, playgrounds, the Gorge Walk and two patrolled beaches (Cylinder & Main).

Amity Drone

Amity Point (Pulan)

Amity Point has one campground within the township that offers the following options:

  • Eco Shacks
  • Cabins
  • Powered sites
  • Unpowered sites

Located in easy walking distance to a skate park, the jetty and swimming enclosure (Amity Point has calm beaches not surf). The boat ramp is near by and the town has a shop and some places to eat & drink or get fresh seafood or hot coffee.

Flinders Beach

  • Beachfront location accessible only by 4WD from Amity Point or Point Lookout

  • Dogs are permitted limited to 200 sites

Main Beach

  • Situated along the eastern coast your choice of campsite within the designated area
  • Accessible by 4WD only (Access is tide dependent)
  • No amenities or drinking water
  • Dogs are permitted
Mc Bradburys Eco Tent 1

Dunwich (Goompi)

Dunwich contains two campgrounds - Bradburys' Beach and Adam's Beach. They offer the following options:

  • Eco Tents with ensuites (Bradburys')
  • Powered sites
  • Unpowered sites

Located on calm water beaches, there are parks and skate parks near by. Dunwich also has a range of shops and places to eat & drink along with some galleries and studios.


Tide Times

Driving is not permitted on the beach one hour either side of high tide. Beach driving rules are the same as when driving on a public road. Driving on sand is different to driving on hard surfaces.

You will need a 4WD vehicle. Be alert only travel at low tide times, stay on harder sand, do not drive or park in the water or the dunes, and slow down for other beach users and wildlife.

Before you drive on the beach make sure you have a 4WD permit, these can be purchased through Minjerribah Camping.

4 Wheel Drive Permits

North Stradbroke Island has great four-wheel-drive bush tracks and kilometres of sandy beaches you can drive on. Vehicle Access Permits are required for driving in designated beach and bush areas on the Island.

Permits can be purchased for the following:

  • up to 1 month
  • more than 1 month (up to 12 months)

This can be done online through the Minjerribah Camping website and collected from either the Dunwich office (if open) or from the Adder Rock Campgrounds office (due to COVID-19).
