Easily accessed by fast passenger ferry or vehicle ferry from Redland Bay, these delightful subtropical islands offer abundant natural attractions and a taste of an idyllic island lifestyle to visitors.                    

With each island rich in its own character, you’ll enjoy discovering the varied lifestyle quite different to the mainland. The passenger and vehicle ferries run regular services daily, so you can explore more than one island in a day or spend a few relaxing days in the one spot.

Driving from the Gold Coast - travel north along the Pacific Highway and take the Cleveland Exit No. 30 onto Cleveland/Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road and follow the signs to Redland Bay.

Driving from Sunshine Coast or Brisbane Airport – head south along the Gateway Motorway, over the Gateway Toll Bridge. Turn left into Mt Gravatt/Capalaba Road (approximately 10 kms) from the Toll Bridge and follow the signs to Redland Bay.

SeaLink Bay Islands operate regular vehicle ferries departing from 1 Weinam Street, Redland Bay 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We recommend you book prior to travel to avoid disappointment. 

The travelling time from Redland Bay to Macleay Island is approximately 40 minutes or 60 minutes to Russell Island.

Timetabled services are the departure time for each ferry so please arrive 20 minutes prior for loading. 

There is no cafe at the terminal or on the SeaLink vehicle ferries however there are a cafes nearby.

SeaLink Bay Islands operates fast and comfortable passenger ferry services to Russell, Macleay, Lamb and Karragarra Islands on behalf of TransLink. Ferries depart the Weinam Creek Marina, Banana Street, Redland Bay 7 days a week approximately every half hour.

Tickets can be purchased and Go Cards can be topped up at any of the 500 retail locations located within South-East Queensland. A Go Card vending machine is located in the waiting room at the Redland Bay Marina. For the most up-to-date timetable information download the My TransLink app or check the TransLink Journey Planner prior to travel.

There is public parking near both ferry terminals:

  • Weinam Creek ferry terminal
  • Meissner Street car park
  • SeaLink barge terminal
  • Moores Road in Redland Bay*

There are various time restrictions and some spaces are shared by boat trailers at certain times. Please make sure to check signage carefully to avoid a parking fine.

*The new car park located on Moores Road in Redland Bay is now open. Security cameras have also been installed and are operational.
